1. MARYBETH C. STALP HOLDS A BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN COMMUNICATION ARTS, ENGLISH LITERATURE AND SOCIOLOGY; A GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN WOMEN'S STUDIES; AND A MASTER OF ARTS AND PHD IN SOCIOLOGY. SHE IS CURRENTLY AN ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF SOCIOLOGY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN IOWA. HER RESEARCH IS CENTERED IN GENDER, LEISURE, AND CULTURE. IN HER QUILTING RESEARCH SHE EXAMINES US MIDLIFE WOMEN'S ENTRANCE INTO A TRADITIONAL ART FORM IN CONTEMPORARY TIMES.
2. THERESA M. WINGE HOLDS A BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN APPAREL DESIGN; A MASTER OF LIBERAL STUDIES DEGREE IN SUBCULTURAL DRESS AND CHAOS THEORY; AND A PHD IN DESIGN, HOUSING, AND APPAREL FOCUSING ON SUBCULTURAL DRESS, FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA. SHE IS CURRENTLY ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF FASHION DESIGN AND THEORY AT INDIANA UNIVERSITY-BLOOMINGTON. COMMON THROUGHOUT HER RESEARCH, WINGE HAS FOCUSED ON THE UNIQUE REPRESENTATIONS AND SOCIOCULTURAL MEANINGS OF SUBCULTURAL DRESS AND RELATED ACTIVITIES.
