Abstract

This work investigates mechanisms involved in metabolic improvements induced by concomitant supplementation of prebiotic and biotin in a murine model of established obesity. We show that this strategy modulates lipid handling at the systemic and tissue level while alleviating inflammation and fibrosis of key tissues of obesity pathophysiology, such as adipose depots and liver. Our results provide meaningful insights for the translation of biotin and prebiotic supplementation into clinical studies.
