Abstract
AbstractThe structures of the compounds LiP and KSb have been redetermined with single crystal diffractometer data. They are isotypic with LiAs (space groupP21/c; LiP:a= 558.2pm;b= 494.0pm;c= 1025.5pm;β= 118.15°; 564 reflectionshkl;R= 0.021; KSb:a= 715.6pm;b= 691.7pm;c= 1335.5 pm;β= 115.17°; 1115 reflectionshkl;R= 0.028). The structures are characterized by one-dimensional infinite∞1[Y-] helices withd(P–P) = 220.5 and 222.4pm andd(Sb–Sb) = 282.9 and 285.2pm, respectively. The alcali metal atoms are surrounded by a distorted octahedron of Y atoms withđ(Li–P) = 268 pm andđ(K–Sb) = 362 pm.
