Key Points Human red pulp macrophages are distinct from monocytes and monocyte-derived macrophages in the expression of FcγRs and other surface markers. Red pulp macrophages phagocytose IgG-opsonized blood cells by activating FcγRs and are sensitive to IV immunoglobulin blocking
