Abstract

Heptanuclear palladium clusters were synthesized via the reaction of [Pd(CNtBu)2]3 with Ph-substituted cyclooligosilanes. The generation of the SiPh moiety upon migration of a Ph group is the key to assembling the seven palladium atoms effectively.
