Abstract

Liquid-crystalline ferroferric oxide nanocomposites (Fe3O4@PILCs) were synthesized, which showed excellent sedimentation stability and enhanced magnetorheological effects due to a synergistic effect among the mesogens and Fe3O4 particles.
