2D spin glass MnIn2Se4: application of liquid-phase exfoliation to a layered structure with seven-atom-thick layers

Abstract

Liquid-phase exfoliation of a layered-structure semiconductor, MnIn2Se4, followed by sequential centrifugation, affords nanosheets of variable thicknesses. Both the bulk material and nanosheets exhibit spin-glass behavior with spin freezing at ∼3 K.
