Abstract

We observed IR absorption of three conformers of HPEF from CH3CHOO + HC(O)OH. The open-form conformers P2*/P3* rapidly convert to P2, which was later dehydrated to FAA, and the intramolecularly H-bonded conformer P1 is stable.
