Abstract

A facile and highly efficient iodine-promoted strategy has been delineated for the synthesis of indolo and pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoxaline derivatives via an oxidative Pictet–Spengler type amino cyclo-annulation reaction using ∝-amino acids as aldehyde surrogates.
