Abstract

We observed IR absorption of an open-form and an intramolecularly H-bonded isomer of CH3C(O)OCH2OOH (HPMA). The former was dehydrated to CH3C(O)OC(O)H (FAA) and the latter is stable. Rate coefficients of CH2OO + CH3C(O)OH and HPMA → FAA were derived.
