Abstract

We describe the synthesis of hybrid magnetic ellipsoidal nanoparticles that consist of a mixture of two different iron oxide phases, hematite (α-Fe₂O₃) and maghemite (γ-Fe₂O₃), and characterize their magnetic field-driven self-assembly.
