Propiedad diferencial del ganado lanar en la Patagonia Argentina = Differential property of the wool livestock in Argentine Patagonia

Abstract

<p><strong>Resumen: </strong></p><p>El objetivo del artículo consiste en describir las brechas de género en el acceso y uso de recursos productivos en Patagonia, dando cuenta de la propiedad y control de razas ovinas entre miembros de una misma unidad doméstica. El acceso diferencial al ganado entre varones y mujeres se estructura a partir de la producción de lanas finas para exportación y la fibra de ovinos criollos, como es la oveja Linca, utilizada por mujeres artesanas para la confección de textiles. De este modo, se visibiliza la diversidad de prácticas de manejo ganadero en el territorio, que responden a distintos intereses y se ven atravesadas por condicionamientos, producto de la relación con el Estado, el mercado y al interior de la familia.</p><p><strong>Abstract:</strong></p><p>The main objective of this article is to describe the gender gaps in the access and use of productive resources in Patagonia, analyzing the control and property of sheep breeds between members of the same domestic unit. The differential access to livestock between men and women is structured from the production of thin wool for export and creole sheep fiber, such as the Linca sheep, used by craftswomen to make textiles. In this way, the diversity of livestock management practices in the territory, which responds to different interests and they are traversed by constraints, product of the relationship with the State, the market and within the family, is made visible.</p>
