Abstract
This paper treats of an inviscid shear flow past an aerofoil spanning two parallel plane walls, upon the assumptions of thin aerofoil theory and of the boundary condition being satisfied at the walls. The aerodynamic characteristics of the aerofoil in such a flow, i.e. the pressure distribution around the aerofoil, the spanwise lift distribution and the induced drag due to the non-uniformity of the spanwise lift distribution, are studied theoretically, with some numerical calculations.
