Abstract

This paper considers aninviscid shear flow through a cascade of aerofoils spanning two parallel plane walls, on the assumptions of thin aerofoil theory. The spanwise distribution of lift coefficient on aerofoils in this type of flow, the flow features far downstream from the cascade, i.e. those in the Trefftz plane, and the induced drag due to the non-uniformity of the spanwise distribution of lift are studied theoretically, with some numerical examples.
