Abstract
The fundamental absorption band of the NF free radical in its
3
Ʃ
-
ground state has been measured using a tunable diode laser spectrometer. The positions of fifty-one transitions in both P and R branches were accurately calibrated against reference gas lines. Analysis of the spectrum yields a value for the band centre of 1123.2788 (30) cm
-1
and equilibrium rotational parameters:
