LEI BRASILEIRA DE INCLUSÃO E O TRATADO DE MARRAQUECHE: GARANTIAS DE ACESSIBILIDADE AOS LIVROS PARA AS PESSOAS COM DEFICIÊNCIA VISUAL

Abstract

This study addresses the issue of limited access to literature for people with visual impairments, focusing on the analysis of the relevant legal provisions. The objective is to examine the barriers faced by people with blindness and low vision when seeking works in accessible formats. In this context, we highlight the importance of aligning Brazilian copyright legislation with the Brazilian Inclusion Law and the Marrakesh Treaty. We argue that it is the State's responsibility to develop public policies that ensure accessibility in various sectors, including the cultural sector, in order to guarantee the equality of rights stipulated by these legal frameworks.
