Abstract
Mental health care in the context of the Psychosocial Care Center – CAPS, imposes important reflections from the perspective of the performance of health professionals, where the model of interdisciplinary action emerges as a fundamental aspect for the performance. Thus, the objective of this study was to analyze the conception of health professionals at the Psychosocial Care Center about interdisciplinarity, through their analysis of this concept, as well as its applicability in their practices in professional practice. This is a study of a qualitative method, and for that, non-participant observations in technical meetings and semi-structured interviews in three different CAPS units in a metropolitan region of the city of São Paulo were used. The results point out that interdisciplinarity has been understood as a theoretical construction, being, therefore, sometimes poorly articulated and complex in terms of its applicability. It was also possible to notice a certain lack of knowledge of health professionals about the possibilities of interdisciplinary action, sometimes approaching other practices, such as multidisciplinarity, or even confused with simpler strategies of joint action. With this, the differences presented in the speeches between thinking and doing interdisciplinary go back to the difficulty of understanding, articulation and applicability of these professionals on the subject.
