Investigation of Diabetes Complication Risk Perception and Diabetes Self-Management Skills in Individuals with Diabetes

Abstract

Aim: It was aimed to examine the complication risk perception and diabetes self-management skills of individuals with diabetes. Material and Methods: The data of the descriptive and relational study were collected using google forms. The sample consists of 153 diabetic individuals. Data were collected with the recognition form, Diabetes Mellitus-Risk Perception Scale, and Diabetes Self-Management Skills Scale. Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation and median were used as descriptive statistical methods in the evaluation of the data. The distribution of the data was evaluated with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk test. Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal- Wallis test and Spearman correlation analysis were used to evaluate non-parametric data.
