Abstract
AbstractThis article describes an effective and atom‐economical protocol to access a wide range of synthetically important functionalized indolizine derivatives. This transformation basically takes place through a Cu(II) catalyzed formal [3+2] annulation of 2‐pyridinyl substituted p‐quinone methides with enaminones. This method displayed a good functional group tolerance and, was found to be effective for most of the enaminones and p‐QMs, and the corresponding indolizines were obtained in moderate to good yields.
