Abstract
AbstractWe report a photocatalytic strategy for selective reduction of nitroarenes to azoxy‐, azo‐ and hydrazo‐compounds catalyzed by bismuth porphyrin metal organic framework (Bi‐MOF) through controlling time, atmosphere, or the quantity of NaBH4 under mild conditions (Rt, Light). The photocatalytic protocol exhibited excellent functional group compatibility, and the recyclability of Bi‐MOF was demonstrated by five cycle tests. More importantly, the scale‐up experiment of 10 g can also be carried out smoothly with excellent yield of 95%. This green and effective photocatalytic strategy provides a practical possibility for the large‐scale synthesis of azo intermediates.
