Abstract
AbstractThis paper considers human resource practices in the workplace that represent barriers to hiring, onboarding, and managing autistic employees. In particular, we focus on the development of bias‐free selection processes to minimize discrimination against autistic job candidates, determining whether and how accommodations affect productivity of autistic employees, and changing attitudes toward autistic employees in the workplace. Implications for future research and recommendations for autism awareness training are provided. Finally, the alignment of organizational systems that facilitate successful employment experiences for autistic adults is explored.
