Abstract
AbstractA definition of catalyst selectivity is presented which is useful both in practical applications and in the mathematical treatment of catalysis. This definition is developed for the special case of heterogeneously catalyzed reactions. Its usefulness is demonstrated by investigating whether the performance of a catalyst can be improved by dynamic rather than steady‐state operation.
