Abstract
AbstractIn electrochemical kinetics the basic equation expresses the current i as a function of the overpotential η. In galvanostatic methods it is desirable to invert this equation in order to obtain n as a function of i. It is shown in this paper that this may be accomplished for arbitrary values of η and i by means of the application of Lagrange's theorem.In this paper the mathematical method of the inversion are discussed. Applications to specific experimental methods will be given in subsequent papers.
