Abstract
AbstractThe inversion of the basic equation of electrochemical kinetics by means of Lagrange's theorem is applied to two galvanostatic experimental methods. The first is the single current step method (galvanostatischer Einschaltvorgang) which has often been used in the study of electrode kinetics. The second is the more recent technique of the cyclic current step method. It is shown to be possible to extend the field of application of these techniques. Another advantage gained by the use of Lagrange's theorem is that if approximations are used it is possible to define exactly the range of validity of these approximations and to estimate the errors involved.
