Abstract
Subject. This article discusses the Russian Federation national policy in the field of education. Objectives. The article aims to improve the tools for evaluating the general education quality. Methods. For the study, we used comparative, systems, quantitative, and qualitative analyses, and the information categorization technique. Results. Based on the identified shortcomings of the system for determining the quality of general education, the article offers additional indicators that can be assessed in the process of monitoring the quality of general education. Conclusions. It is necessary to amend the laws and statutory instruments regulating the evaluation of the general education quality.
