A Study of Choking Conditions in the Flow of Wet Steam

Abstract

Choking criteria in the flow of wet steam are described. Considering flow through a convergent-divergent nozzle it is shown that choking at the throat can occur at a speed below the frozen speed of sound. The experimental support is limited to one geometry.
