Digitalization in the field of investment and construction projects

Abstract

This article considers issues associated with digitalization of processes in the field of implementation of construction projects. These issues are acquiring increased importance in the context of the ongoing transformation of Russian economy as a whole, coronavirus pandemic and intensified transition to project financing. The introduction of innovative digital technologies involves a significant restructuring of the management system at all stages of the project’s life cycle, from its onset to implementation and completion. According to the conducted research, the multiple data adjustments in the process of project implementation, development of management methods and technologies of design, construction, reconstruction, renovation and elimination of worn and damaged real estate, as well as the emergence and increasing priority of qualitative indicators in the assessment of housing construction projects, require a targeted focus on the process organization of digital transformation. Measures of project digitalization in construction, the introduction of the ProctorTech and ConTech tools have been repeatedly discussed at the discussion platforms of the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation. The annual All-Russian competition "BIM-technologies" revealed a number of issues, the solution to which is seen in software products and revised approaches to transformation management. Digital transformation in the field of investment and construction projects should be carried out comprehensively, covering the construction activities of all the participants. The potential of digitalization efficiency in construction practice is fully revealed, provided that scientifically based criteria for the effectiveness of information interaction between participants in the implementation of construction projects at all stages of their life cycle are developed and implemented.
