Abstract

The studied area is located in the southeast parts of the Plana Mountain. It is built up of Plana diorite pluton, represented by granodiorites, quartz-diorites and quartz-monzonites, which is located among the older (Precambrian) metamorphic rocks (gneisses, amphibolites, schists and fillites). Plana Pluton is part of Tsentralnosrednogorska magmatic province. The aim of the present work is to clarify the physico-mechanical properties of rocks from the Plana pluton in the area of village of Gorni Okol. For this purpose the values of Point load strength index Is(50), water absorption, bulk density, etc. are determined. Correlation dependencies between the studied parameters are revealed.
