Abstract

The article reflects data on the medical and demographic processes of the population living in the zone of influence of the Vostochny Cosmodrome (ZATO Tsiolkovsky) in a comparative aspect with the indicators for the Amur Region and all-Russian indicators for 2015-2020. The article contains questions of population size, fertility, mortality, population movement, distribution by sex and age. The population of ZATO "Tsiolkovsky" has a steady upward trend and increased by 15.8% over the analyzed period. On the territory of observation, a favorable trend in the growth of the birth rate was noted. By 2020, the birth rate has increased compared to 2015 from 8.5‰ to 9.6‰. The level of general mortality of the population of ZATO Tsiolkovsky in 2020 was 3.8 ‰ and was significantly lower than the indicators of the compared territories: 16.2 ‰ in the Amur Region and 14.6 ‰ in the Russian Federation. There were no deaths of infants (under the age of 1 year) in ZATO Tsiolkovsky during the analyzed period. The predominance in the age structure of ZATO Tsiolkovsky of the population younger than the working age over the population older than the working age indicates a progressive structure of the population, both due to the reproduction of the population, and due to the influx of labor. This explains the fact that the growth in the population of ZATO Tsiolkovsky during the analyzed period occurred mainly at the expense of the able-bodied part of the population.
