Abstract
The author analyzes the situation around the "Three Seas" initiative in the context of the regionalization process of modern Europe, assessing the current position of Poland as a leading member of the project and a potential regional leader, and considers the likely scenarios of further steps towards depolarization of the region, including the possibility of establishing relations between Russia and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which have historically been united. Also, the author makes an assumption about the nature of changes and processes of international relations in the EU countries, under the conditions of polarization of the political climate in the region, which will lead to the growth of interethnic crisis. The article pays attention to the issues of choice of path and self-identifi cation of the former Eastern bloc states that found themselves dependent on the Western countries led by the United States of America. The Polish Republic's realization of its own potential, coupled with its ambitions to achieve regional leadership, gives hope for the revision of relations and cultural and historical ties with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The author off ers a number of conclusions on the role and potential of the Trimorje Initiative within the characteristics of a polycentric world.
