Abstract

AbstractInfections continue to be major causes of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised children and adolescents with cancer or undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. This report summarizes new clinical research data presented at the 33rd European Congress on Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases on infections in this vulnerable population, with a focus on the epidemiology, diagnosis, and prevention of invasive fungal diseases and de‐escalation strategies in neutropenic patients with fever of unknown origin.
