Abstract
The doublet structures observed by Coulon, Galatry, Robin, and Vodar (1955) in the QP and S(1) components of the pressure-induced fundamental infrared band of hydrogen have been reinvestigated under various conditions of temperature and pressure. It is concluded that the structures can be interpreted in terms of kinetic energy interactions which have already been shown to give rise to the main components, QP and QR, of the Q branch.
