Abstract
The reaction of14N-active nitrogen with15N-ammonia produces only N2and H2. The nitrogen is exclusively14N15N. It is concluded that the primary process[Formula: see text](where N2* is probably in the A3Σu+state, or a vibrationally excited X1Σg+state) is followed by the secondary reactions[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]which consume nitrogen atoms, in disagreement with earlier conclusions about the ammonia reaction.
