Abstract
Four groups of rats fed high-fat diets of reported different thrombogenic capacities were found similar with respect to their weight gain, and their liver weight and lipid content. Compared with a control group receiving laboratory chow, liver mitochondrial carnitine palmitoyl transferase activity was found to be increased in all four groups but this increase was unrelated to the reported thrombogenic potency of the diets.
