The Pressure–Temperature Description in Nonlinear Light Scattering

Abstract

In this paper, we show that two different pressure descriptions may be introduced into the standard treatment of stimulated light scattering by one- and two-component fluids. By deriving the basic equations in these two descriptions, we are able to ascertain that an erroneous mixing of nonlinear source terms from the two descriptions has taken place in the literature. The relevant literature is thoroughly discussed.
