Abstract
The copper-chalcogenolates [(Me3SiE-Cu)2(µ-Ph2PC[Formula: see text]CPPh2-κ2P)3] (1, E = S; 2, E = Se; 3, E = Te) have been prepared in good yield from [(OAcCu)2(µ-Ph2PC[Formula: see text]CPPh2-κ2P)3] and E(SiMe3)2 at low temperatures. Complexes 13 contain two pendant -ESiMe3 moieties bonded to copper(I) centres, which are also bridged by three didentate ligands to form helical structures. Complexes 13 have been characterized by single crystal crystallographic and spectroscopic methods.Key words: copper, chalcogen, helical, trimethylsilyl groups, phosphinoacetylene.
