Abstract
The digestion of cellulose by the beaver (Castor canadensis) has been studied. Indigestible markers added to the feed and artificial caeca were used as techniques in the determination of cellulose digestion. The ability of the experimental animals to digest cellulose ranged from 32 to 33%.
