Abstract
Angular characteristics of charged shower particles produced in 50 GeV π−–emulsion and 400 GeV p–emulsion collisions are investigated in terms of pseudorapidity, η. The analysis of the data reveals that about 90% of the events at 400 GeV have at least one cluster, where as at 50 GeV the number of events having at least one single cluster lies between 60–70%. Furthermore, from the information obtained by studying short–short and short–long correlations, it may be concluded that there might be several clusters present in a disintegration caused by 50 and 400 GeV hadrons in a nuclear emulsion and each cluster should decay into a minimum of three charged particles. Finally, the dependence of the angular characteristics of charged shower particles on the size of the target at both 50 and 400 GeV is also investigated.
