UNCERTAINTY OF SCIENCE TO GUIDE SOUND URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN A FACE OF GLOBAL CHALLENGES

Author:

Moiseev Yuri Mikhailovich

Abstract

Several related issues about urban planning science and transforming ideas of its locus within planning policy and practice are considered, and at the same time, changing positions in assessing its role are outlined. So far, there are no unambiguous answers to many complex questions, but the analysis of critical remarks and the correct response to them will help turn science into a reliable driver of urban development in the face of global challenges.
