Abstract

This chapter clearly and succinctly explores accounts of terminally degreed, second career Black women who work in higher education. This chapter is a real-world exploration with real experiences. Thus, as discussed later, the authors will share their stories. The chapter will focus on the literature of such women including the assets that these women bring to the workplace. The themes that emerge from each story will provide the basis for the principle/guidelines that women who are entering the field, or struggling in higher education, can utilize as they blaze new paths.
