Abstract

Higher education learners' learning outcomes (HELLO) provide a standardized approach to defining and assessing learning outcomes in higher education. The implementation of this framework poses several challenges for higher education institutions. This chapter discusses the critical challenges involved in developing and executing HELLO. These challenges include ensuring alignment between the learning outcomes, the institution's overall educational goals, and the expectations of employers and society, defining clear and measurable learning outcomes, integrating learning outcomes into the curriculum and assessment processes, and ensuring that the learning outcomes are consistent and comparable across different programs. Overall, the chapter highlights the importance of careful planning, collaboration, and ongoing evaluation and refinement to ensure that students acquire the knowledge, skills, and values they need to succeed in their chosen careers and positively contribute to society.
