Abstract

This review provides a comprehensive analysis of the use of remote sensing techniques in monitoring ecohydrological events. Ecohydrology is an interdisciplinary field that explores the interactions between ecosystems and the water cycle. Remote sensing, with its ability to capture large-scale and continuous observations, has proven to be an invaluable tool in monitoring and understanding these complex interactions. In this chapter, the authors discuss the various remote sensing platforms, sensors, and techniques employed to monitor ecohydrological events, including vegetation dynamics, water availability, and land-use changes. The authors also examine the challenges and future prospects in the field, highlighting the potential for advancing our understanding of ecohydrological processes through remote sensing.
