Abstract
The internet of things (IoT) is a concept that connects objects via the internet. The extensive adoption of IoT technologies unleashes various capabilities of designing a broad range of high-quality consumer applications. Smart cities, smart buildings, and e-health are among various application domains which benefit from IoT technologies. However, the precise use of IoT in evaluating content digital marketing is ambiguous. This chapter identifies the content digital marketing aspect of the IoT applications as well as the technological aspects of web development through literature review. The focus in this chapter lies in how IoT can be taken as a content marketing tool in the IoT applications. IoT offers unlimited creativity for content creation as well as targeted delivery of content. This research finding further presents a design of a monitoring control system based on the IoT. These results demonstrate the significant shift in marketing strategies that need to take place as they adopt IoT and the development of web applications for effective remote monitoring in IoT devices.
