Abstract
Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) have become game-changing technologies with enormous potential across a wide range of industries, including healthcare. This chapter offers a thorough analysis of their uses in the medical industry. Augmented reality (AR) improves perception and interaction with the environment by superimposing digital information over the real world. Conversely, virtual reality (VR) submerges viewers in digitally created settings, facilitating life like simulations and encounters.AR and VR in medicine provide cutting-edge approaches to patient care, therapy, education, and training. Immersion simulators are beneficial to medical education because they let students perform operations in a safe setting. Virtual reality is used in training programs to simulate surgical scenarios, which enhances abilities and lowers errors. AR-assisted surgeries improve accuracy and efficiency by giving surgeons access to real-time patient data and guidance.
