Abstract

Blockchain and cloud computing are revolutionizing the healthcare sector, especially for the elderly population. Blockchain offers security, transparency, and scalability, while cloud computing ensures efficient, secure, and patient-centric services. Traditional healthcare systems struggle to meet the complex needs of elderly citizens, but blockchain technology can address these issues by providing transparent, immutable data storage and patient privacy. The chapter explores the integration of cloud computing in blockchain-based healthcare solutions, highlighting its potential for on-demand access, real-time data processing, and seamless collaboration among healthcare providers, caregivers, and patients. It also discusses the regulatory and ethical implications of blockchain-cloud solutions.
