Abstract

With ecological consciousness being imperative for all categories of people for the benefit of the environment, the public is practising certain activities and awareness among the uneducated is being disseminated. The practices are obtained individually at the living places of their own, but, at the offices, and institutions, the attitude is drifted suddenly, especially since the generation Zers are so negligent about the conservation of electricity, water, food, waste management, and other miscellaneous activities related to environmental protection. The study on the ecological consciousness of the hostel students concerning their perception and attitude towards the usage of the common scarce resources available in the hostels. The research was served with descriptive and exploratory design, mixed approach, convenience sampling technique and cross-sectional survey type. The data were analysed with factor analysis and multiple regression analysis. This chapter explains the impact of the conservation practices of students on their ecological consciousness.
