Abstract
Following the previous chapter's discussion on developing executive functioning skills within inclusive education, this chapter extends these concepts by focusing on differentiated instruction as a vital approach to meet diverse student needs. Differentiated instruction builds on the foundation of executive functioning by adjusting teaching methods, content, and assessments to cater to the varying abilities and preferences of students. This method ensures that educational practices are aligned with the executive skills like planning, organization, and task initiation discussed previously. For instance, differentiated tasks might range from complex problem-solving exercises for advanced learners to structured, step-by-step activities for those requiring more guidance, thus supporting the development of executive functioning across different learner profiles. Through differentiated instruction, educators can create an adaptive learning environment that promotes the goals of inclusive education outlined in the executive functioning context.
