Abstract
Recent advancements in sensory technologies have brought about excellent product assessment in the food and non-food industries. This changes in a new era of enhanced human experiences. Sensory technologies are based on taste, smell, touch, hearing, and sight that have undergone revolutionary development. The collective information about human senses has been captured, processed, and transmitted to produce customer satisfaction. Recent sensory technologies have brought about a paradigm shift, particularly in the food industry. The detection and evaluation of complex flavors and fragrances for food products are faster due to the application of machine learning algorithms and equipment like electronic tongues and noses. Applications for virtual and augmented reality have improved taste experiences even further by enabling customers to virtually try products before deciding which ones to buy. Furthermore, the employment of computer vision, electronic noses, and heat sensors has increased in the food analysis industry to ensure authenticity and quality.
