Abstract

In this study, the authors investigate how the revocation of Article 370 is framed in the media and how the newspapers frame the types of conflicts by examining the coverage in three prominent newspapers: The Hindu, Dawn, and The New York Times. Employing a non-experimental ex-post facto research design, we utilize a qualitative content analysis to categorize and analyze the various frames used in media coverage. The analysis encompasses a total of 1,117 stories published over the course of one month, from August 5, 2019, to September 5, 2019, spanning different formats such as news reports, articles, feature stories, editorials, opinions, and cartoons.
