Abstract
This chapter looks at how Confucian principles apply to contemporary management and how Chinese leadership might promote long-term sustainability. It looks at how China's distinctive leadership style, informed by Confucian ideals, has shaped long-term growth and ecological balance in the country's commercial practices. This chapter uses a variety of case studies to explore how these ideas are incorporated into the everyday practices of organizations and their approaches to the marketplace. The work stresses the significance of looking at problems from all angles, learning from history, and looking ahead creatively.
